China has one of the world’s oldest people and continuous civilizations, consisting of states and cultures dating back more than six millennia. It has the world’s longest continuously used written language system, and is the source of many major inventions; such as what the British scholar and biochemist Joseph Needham called the “four great inventions of Ancient China”.
China seems nevertheless in its scenic beauty, historical monuments and modern lifestyle. Tourism in China is a major contributor of its economy. Having little knowledge of Chinese language is of great help for the tourist. A Chinese tourist has to be cautious of what is served on the plate.
China’s travel is incomplete without sipping its green tea in the traditional manner. Important tourist places are Beijing, Xian, Guilin, Shangai and Hong Kong (Special administrative region of China). Beijing is imperial with its Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City, Great Wall of China and Beijing Roast Duck (a delicacy). Xian is of historical importance with its Bell Tower and Terracotta army. Guilin provides great landscapes. Shangai, capital city is highly modernized. A cruise on the Yangtze River or Li River is real soothing experience. Tourism in China is very promising and real value for your money.
